Inspired by sunlight filtering through tree canopies, “Lys” is a shelve crafted from solid ash, using heartwood and sapwood from a single board. The pairing of these distinct wood zones reveals the material’s natural grain, tonal variation, and inherent character.

Its open construction allows light to pass freely from all sides, giving the piece a sense of lightness. As daylight shifts throughout the day, changing angles of sunlight create a subtle play of shadows, gently transforming the space.​​
